Open Office shouldnt be that heavy on system resources at all. i think you might have a confilct there or something. I use it and it sparks up in seconds, certainly not 1 and a half minutes.

I can also recommend fileZilla for your FTP as well. http://filezilla-project.org/ it does everything that paid software does and there's regular updates too.

It's not a conflict, but note that I did say that I was using the portable version of Open Office. Anything that takes a lot of disk space running off an SD card or USB stick is going to be slow unless it's optimised for it. I've nothing against Open Office (or Libre Office, as I believe it's called these days), it's just not a practical solution when running as a portable app.

I use that, too, because there's a portable version of it at http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/f ... a_portable. :wink:
