Re: When does a blank placemat become too expensive?
not a clue lol, i put them in a mug cardboard box with some bubble wrap
Re: When does a blank placemat become too expensive?
I send mine out recorded, and for First Class that makes it £2.98 per mug. In six weeks time that'll go up to £3.25 (thanks, Royal Mail, for killing my business).
I'm giving the option of Second Class recorded now, but that's still £2.69 which is what first class recorded was two years ago. Second Class recorded is about to go up to £2.93 (about what First Class recorded is now). Second Class baulks out at 1Kg (which is only two mugs if you put them in smashproof boxes).
These are just postage costs, not including shipping boxes.
I've seen many examples of customers preparing to buy something from my website, until they see the postage costs, and then they don't commit.

2.54 first class here, i really prefer people to order 2 or 4 mugs as it makes it cheaper to send by courier, i encourage people to buy with friends and ship to one address to make it cheaper.

oh and i send mine in the poly mailers with brown tape round, used th eboxes when first set up and the breakages cancelled out my profits

Photoscape - there isn't a £2.54 for 1st class parcel post, it goes from £2.24 for 251-500g up to £2.75 for 501-750g. I'd ask the post office to re-weigh your parcels!

I charge £2.75 for mugs to the UK. That comprises of £2.24 for first class postage, 40p for the poly mailer and 10p for tape and labels. For international postage outside Europe I currently have to charge £6.25 to cover the costs.
