Epson B1100 custom profile.
Re: Epson B1100 custom profile.
...and is the mug press getting up to temperature correctly smitch6?
Re: Epson B1100 custom profile.
yes my manual (or rather sheet) i got with the press says ceramic 180-200c for 300-500 secs
T's 150-180c for 20-40secs
but i use 200c for 60 secs for the T's
i've tried pressing for less and the results were really poor
pressure wise i always have it as firm as possible
yes the temp is getting up to temp as far as the display is reading anyway
it's funny actually cos on the poly material i was playing with today i forgot it was in there and it pressed it for 150 secs and came out loads better lol

Wow 500 seconds - that's over 8 minutes
Is the display in degrees C or degrees F?
Something somewhere isn't right, but there are lots of unknowns - is it the temp on the press/ is it the print quality from the printer (irrespective of the ink), is it the sublimation ink your using/ is it something to do with the profile?
Re: Epson B1100 custom profile.
i'm getting the same finish with this printer as i was with the S21
the ink is the same but i'm now using new trupix paper off you martin
defo in C NOT F
good old chinese presses hey lol
does make u wonder though
cos i tried the mugs on 190c and 200c and it burnt the tape into the mug
hence why i now use 180c
without the profile all the colours are near enough spot on
it's just really bad quality and looks grainy
as though the image was scanned and covered in dust
but only solid colours
if that makes sense

Re: Epson B1100 custom profile.
Okay, so you can rule out the temp issue! That leaves the printer (but if S21 and B1100 are doing the same then the printer probably isn't the problem). So you're down to the profile or the inks. If the profile only affects the colour but the images printed are still 'gainy' then the only thing left is the inks (if my logic is correct). Does that make sense?
Re: Epson B1100 custom profile.
yep
and I am thinking about the wors scenario... mixed with water to sell more with more profit...

Re: Epson B1100 custom profile.
i think to be honest i might bite the bullet and get some decent ink
might cost me around the £100 mark but if it cures all the problems its worth it
as everyone says work mathodically and rule out things and it seems to point to ink
Paul said it looks like its been printed on normal paper not sub
and as i'm using trupix (on the bright white side
) its got to be the ink then really hasn't it

Re: Epson B1100 custom profile.
well folks an update
as you can see from the pics before and after
i'm well happy now
Paul helped me sort out my problems
i'm not using a profile anymore though and the colours are spot on
but we did work it out that it had to be the ink
so i had some new stuff delivered this morning and WOW
what a difference it has made
no grainy effect perfect deep true colours
