At least the price explains why none of the regular suppliers have stocked them before now.

i would like to try these also ... great for photographers uses but as many have said ... not for normal use... but since when have photographers been normal?... lol

You'd have thought the price would be based on the slightly larger area wouldn't you. The normal coasters we have are 90mm square and I once enquired about getting them made to 100mm square. The cost of that was more than double the 90mm square! No logic.

i suppose its a bit like fencing panels
the 6 foot ones which are the standard size are the cheapest around £10
but for a 4 foot high one its double that price lol
less wood but more work as its not a standard size even though they still make them

If you decide to stock the rectangular ones and make them available in, say, packs of 10 then I'll have a couple of packs from you to gauge interest. But if the minimum quantity is 100 at £1 each (inc. VAT), then it's not going to happen for some time.

Incidentally, I offer the 100mm unisub ones on my website but I've barely sold any. Ever. But the 90mm "cheap" ones sell in dozens and even >100s - all down to the price, I'm sure. Based on this, if I offered the rectangular ones for 31p more (just the difference in cost price of the coaster) I know they won't sell in anywhere near the same quantities.

On a parallel note, it's amusing that the coasters cost 50% more than the regular ones but the baize/cork backing doesn't. Surely the same issues re: non-standard size and production volumes applies to the backing as it does to the coasters? (Don't tell your supplier, or they'll double the price of the backing too!)

couldnt they be made of the neoprene material like the cheapo ones? .. that might be a cheap alternative right? ... lol
and i'm surpised that they arent available in the same material that teh xmas decorations come in... theyd make a great coaster
