What type if vinyl is used with the Craft Robo for t shirts. The vinyl that came with the machine has got a sticky side to it. What is that called?

You'll need Transfer Vinyl for T-shirts (clear mylar backing, so you would cut in mirror image). Normal Sign Vinyl is glossy on outside with a heavier silicone backing (normally printed with manufacturer name i.e. oracal 650).

Hope that makes sense.

The Transfer vinyl uses the heat press to stick to the t's I take it? Also what is flex? When I used the cutter it also cut through the plastic backing in some places, what is the reason for that?

Flex is the name given to heat transfer material for t-shirts etc. Some people call this Vinyl, but Vinyl is the name given to sticky backed material for windows/ cars etc.

Don't get Martin started on Vinyl and Flex .................. you say 'potato' and I say 'petato' :biggrin::biggrin:

And flock is a collective name for a group of animals that live together, or perhaps a group of people under the leadership of one person
:biggrin::biggrin:

Flock is like a velvity material like suede (higher surface and blunts your blades).

Flex is just a basic garment vinyl (sorry Martin) garment flex, that is smooth.

grrr...we sell vinyl and flex and it is very confusing when someone phones up and asks for, say, black vinyl - meaning they want black Flex not black Vinyl:eek:

I was thinking what is flock... Now I know.

Thanks for the great service you provided Martin, I ordered a quite a few bits on Monday and your systems were down, but you still got it out to me for Tuesday. Unlike lovecuts, I ordered a heat press late Monday thought they would send it Tuesday and would get it today. Know chance as sagepay is a fault!

I know it's only a day but I couldn't wait to get going today!

I am going to cut some flex today and iron it on, has anyone got any advice on that?

Thanks
