Hi
Is there much of a difference between expensive and cheaper paper, I've only ever bought the more expensive paper but I see paper at half the price, any recommendations welcome

I always use srace paper for fabric. Not cheap but prints in 40 secs which is better than some.
I like the black density and colours it gives me in conjunction with the profiles and ink I use.
There are probably savings to be made by buying cheaper paper but the effort to recalibrate everything is too much.
With cheaer paper (or ink) you can never be 100% sure that the product is the same from one batch to the next. The seller often often shops around for the best supplier which can be a pain with end colours.

Never buy cheap if quality is what you're after. Unless you are printing dirt cheap tourist stuff. If it helps then we use:

Always used to buy Inktec rolls of paper but thought we'd test others. Bought the Therma and Beaver TexPrint from Xpres. Therma is very good but the adhesive doesn't stick to all fabrics. TexPrint we find very slightly better print quality. Overall both of these papers make a huge difference to the Inktec, far more expensive when you cost per metre but worth it.

If it's small format we use Versa paper.

I’ve tried cheaper paper, but often is more hassle - thinner paper tends to jam/misalign and often doesn’t feed as well, particularly in damp/humid weather. I use S-Race for both hard and soft materials - yes it costs more, but I get a lot less waste.
