Decent Printer

Just looking for advice on a what you would think a is a decent sublimation printer.

I'm looking at spending around £400. I seen the sawgrass SG500 and thought this looks ok for a beginner. At the min I'm just doing sublimation onto mugs etc but may be tempted to do a few t-shirts. I've not thought about the size as I was only looking at smaller things for now.

Sawgrass printer is an easy option but long term you're paying more than you need to for ink and support isn't the best.

Many users (including ourselves) use Inktec inks. Tried and tested over many years and trusted by a lot of users on here already. Prices are very good as is support. You can look at companies like Ink Experts, Ink Express.

Several option for smaller format (A4,A3) printers as a complete setup kit. I would personally recommend an A3 size printer. If you plan to do A4 jigsaws for example you will need an A3 printer. The ET18100 is a fabulous printer but at £799 is outside your proposed budget. If A4 will suffice for now there are cheaper options.

The Epson WF7310 is a good entry level A3/occasional A3+ printer, at about £165. You will need some refillable cartridges at about £65 and ink with profile for £48. Don't be tempted to try a CISS system as this printer dosn't like them for some reason.

If you can stretch your budget then the ET18100 is available at about £580 from printerland. You will have to buy ink and a profile for about £65 but some of that can be offset by selling the Epson ink that comes with the printer on ebay.

Thanks for you informative replies. Inks for the Sawgras do seem a bit much when starting out and no work coming in yet. I've managed to find a place in Liverpool that have a sublimation printer that I'm able to use for now, so hopefully I pick up a bit of work that allows me to expand on my budget
