Hi all,
asking for someone else who poted elsewhere on social media.

Sublimating childrens PJ's specifically but including all other childrens items. Is this something people do and if so, do you need a special certificate from Trading standards or is the generic fire waning on the label of garments sufficient please?

Thanks
regards
Tony

Unless you are manufacturing your own clothing or importing yourself then the garment should come ready labelled if legally sold in this country.

Away from fire safety, ink used on childrens garments should be Oeko-Tex certified, which most of the best sublimation ink is - such as Inktec Sublinova. Any other printed kids items should use ink certified to EN71-3. Trading standards may want to see some proof that the inks comply, in which case you should keep a copy of the testing certificate that the ink supplier should have available to download (maybe not if you buy on ebay or Amazon!).

For fire safety, you'll need to ensure the garments meet UK flammability standards. The generic fire warning on the label might not be enough. You may need to obtain a CE certification or follow the UK's Toy Safety Regulations, depending on the item and its intended use.
