Re: marks on t-shirts problem

Post by kris_hm »

Hi,
My heat press (heating plate) is leaving big, square marks on t-shirts. I though it will be ok after first wash but it isn't :/ still can see big square. I'm using very light pressure for sublimation so it shouldn't be that reason.

also even after first wash the surface of the t-shirt where subli paper was, is bit different and looks more bright and white then the rest of the t-shirt.

will appreciate any suggestions

All flat presses leave marks on tee shirts, but those normally disappear when the tee is first washed and certainly when it is put in a tumble dryer.

do you use a teflon sheet at all ?? if you dont - do, if you do - don't and see what the difference is and let us know - maybe use a sheet or something to see rather than t shirts

yes, I'm using one teflon sheet from the top. I'll keep trying changing settings :/
I was hoping to start online sale soon. if you sale online, do you send some advice to customers, like: "press marks will disappear after wash" or something silly like this???

Immediately after pressing it helps a little bit if you stretch the shirt sideways and top to bottom.

Kris, there has to be something not right, i pressed 109 t shirts this tue/wed, front/back and arm - and after i had left them draped over the frame where i stack them after pressing, you could not see the press square. I am using a good weight of black T, the press mark always goes as the t cools down - same for hoodies - i did 38 of those as well this week. (all in vinyl i do add)

Maybe the Pressure for the weight of shirt is not right, or the temp, post up what you are using, from the t to the paper, to the press to the temp & time & pressure and that will help folks take it one step at a time
