Re: Heat shrink film - does it work?

I want to try using the oven for bowling bottles but can't find cactus wraps the right size so I am going to try film.
Does the heat shrink film work ok with a good even presure?
Is it better to use the rolls of film or the sleeves? Or would I be as well using a second heatpress to get a similar output?

Yes it works very well. It can be difficult to remove of not taken off fairly quickly.

We went back to using a mug press for bowling bottles although of course you only get the same coverage print wise as a mug as the shrink wraps were a pain. Full coverage on a bowling bottle in an oven we could never get and the ones you see in the shops are done by decal no doubt so don't expect anything similar.

Only doing logos so mug presses will be fine.
I think the only way to do all over prints in low volumes is with a UV printer with a kebab fitting for bottles. They start at about £17k, so that isn't an option.....

I'm the same as UK Printed Mugs and print thousands of mugs and bowling bottles.

Heat Shrink film does work but you can also get an all over print in a tumbler press. The link below takes you to a review which shows how close I got to an all over print with just the first test bottle. I reckon another 1 or 2 bottles and I would have that perfect.
