Re: Epson 1500w replacement printhead

I have seen a load of replacement heads for the 1500w for about £19 on ebay - obviously non OEM - which seems very cheap. They claim to be new... presumably there is now a big market for these due to all of the dtf guys needing replacements.

Anyone got any experience of these (for sublimation)? Is it worth a punt?

We run 1500's. I bought a cheap head from China, same sort of price. Absolute crap. Looked fine on delivery but I couldn't get ink to flow through it at all.

Is yours definatley past it's best? I've removed one of ours a couple of times and cleared it, maybe worth a shot?

Yeah, going fast.... Starting to delaminate. The black ink is encroaching into the yellow channel and over the last few days the yellow ciss cart has been filling with black ink.

Still probably good enough for using as an all black system for screen printing for a while, but I was hoping to avoid splashing out on something new for a while. Just spent £1700 on a new PCB for my solvent printer so want to get a couple more months out of the 1500w if I can.

I have an old 1400 in the store room so I might take the head out of that to see if it still works after a soak.
