Re: Phone Case Fading

Post by subby93 »

Hi there,

I have been having some issued when sublimating onto phone cases. i am getting fading or blotching on black areas of my design, generally the rest of the design is coming out ok.

I am using high pressure at 204c for 70 seconds, i have tried a combination of lower time, heat and pressure, my current settings seem to work but lacking consistency, its a bit of a lottery as to whether or not a case will come out perfect.

would greatly appreciate any tips or advice on gaining a consistent finish.

Regards,

Lewis

It would help to know what press and paper, printer and ink.

I don’t print cases but a few others here might be able to help.

Assuming you are referring to a 2D phone case, metal insert?

They're not brillaint to start with tbh but you should get half decent print. Any photo's of your results would help.

Temp seems a little high 190c/195c should be ample as long as your press is accurate. Pressure as well, as long as it's making good contact it doesn't need to be firm so maybe dial back a little.

Fading may indicate that the substrate isn't flat or there's a dead spot on the press platen. Blotching sounds more like the transfer. Double check profile is working properly and is selected.
