Re: Blizzard v Neil bros oven

Post by Conkers »

Hi, new here.
I am an artist in n Wales trying to make sales scalable and have started sublimating my work on mugs …. Full wrap, lots of colour.
Soon realised the challenges of mug press regards the fading edges…. So inconsistent , driving me crazy.
now looking to an oven , I do orders of about 50 to 150 at a time .

Narrowed options down to a cheaper genetic blizzard, ie the same oven not branded blizzard at approx £330 or the Neil brothers industrial at approx £530

Big price difference. Wondering if the latter is really worth the extra in any way?

any advice very much appreciated

The Neil Bros oven is showing as out of stock, so that would seem to make your decision for you.
Most of the 'sublimation' ovens at the lower end of the market are just rebadged catering bake off/countertop ovens. Not a lot of difference between cooking a sausage roll and cooking a mug.

The Neil Bros oven is slightly larger (70ltr vs 60ltr), and it might be better quality and might last longer, but either only cost the profit on a couple of hundred mugs so to a certain extent are both disposable.

The Neil Bros oven is being sold as a sublimation oven, so you will have no arguement about improper use if you need to make a warranty claim.

thanks pw66 …craving a sausage roll now ;)
good point regards warranty.
the Neil bros is available in different guises for about the same, but will go with the generic blizzard as a starting point I reckon.
thanks again .

Hi Conkers

If you fancy a trip to sunny Rhyl I can show you the Blizzard in action.

DM me if you need and we can go from there.

Thank you! That’s so kind socialgiraffe …. Really appreciated . May well take you up on that :). Just finished another tedious evening with a 5 mug multipress…. Just can’t get it to play ball.

Just bought another Blizzard, got this one used as prices seem to have gone up recently. Great little ovens.

Hi, I've just purchased the 70L Neil Brothers sublimation oven. The instructions suggest 180 for 780 seconds. Can any one who has this oven let me know their suggested times and temps for this. I'm finding the 13 minutes too long as its blurring my image and don't want to waste too many mugs trialling it if anyone else has the answers :)
