Re: Porcelain Mugs - Another other mug press apart from Adkins?
Hi all. After our Adkins Studio Mug Press Element burst into flames yesterday I was able to put fire out by weeping over it due to the price of a new porcelain element from Xpres (£124+vat!). We have ditched Adkin mug presses apart from this one press we use with the porcelain element and of course sods law we have a large print run to do on porcelain so had to buy a new element. So my question, does anyone else sublimate onto the Xpres Porcelain Mugs using a different type of mug press as I simply cannot get a good fit using smaller elements on the other presses we have? Thanks.

Have you tried your mdp press?
I have an element for the kids mugs but to be honest it’s not great I had problems closing the press with it.
I have a ukpress wer150 which I now use for the kids mugs and water bottles.
if you want to try one of the B elements on your mdp press just shout I can lend you one or let you have one cheap (£10) as I have two here.

Hi. Yeah, sadly tried the B element but still doesn't close firmly enough round but also isn't long enough to cover the mug so it sticks out too far either end. Also have a press for water bottles but again wrap too lose. Seems so odd that only Xpres seem to sell porcelain as well.

How can a single blanket cost the same, more than many other 'complete' mug presses??? Are they really such premium quality!? (That's a little rhetorical) and they still burst into flames

Tell me about it! Also, the "new" adkins wraps now need to set to 195c and 225s!!!!!! The original wraps worked perfectly at 170c and 180s Grrrrr

So the question is, does this indicate that the new blankets are better quality and can withstand the addtional heat and time? Your day just got 50% longer lol.
