Mug discolouring

I’m wondering if it’s because I’m using the Cricut mug press not a normal press

And your printer nozzle checks are all clear?
Maybe too much ink on the paper and it’s still wet?

The first image is how mine used to come out when left to cool.
that last image is just awful god only knows what’s happened there. Lol

Could my warm water be too hot?

The hot water can’t get hot enough to make a difference.
sublimation starts at around 160oC I believe or around that.

Agree with you there.
The mugs I had a problem with were a bad batch of coating. I sent them back as the supplier agreed. A mug I kept and left in the dishwasher had the glaze peel off after about 3 washes.

The way the ink migrated depended on which way I stood the mug as soon as it came out of the press.

I did try a different mug from another supplier and that done the same too, I was wondering if my press is too hot or too long pressing.

I would say your pressing too long.
sadly I can’t help with a cricut press as I Have never seen one or know about settings etc.

from a warm mug I am pressing at 185c for 185 seconds then straight into hot water for the paper removal.
[MENTION=1606]JMugs[/MENTION] yeah heat rises so the ink will spread upwards.
the mdp mugs don’t stop sublimation until I dunk them, even waiting 20 seconds will ruin the print.

I have an update I have just done a reprint on plain paper and if you look closely the yellow tinge is in the print out hence it’s on the mugs.

Epsom can’t remember the code the nozzle check comes up ok think I have found the issue will report back later this evening.

Right I believe I’ve sorted it firstly my computer hadn’t saved the printer settings so it though it was printing on normal paper, secondly the paper I was using stated on it for fabric tried the other paper I have that says for hard surfaces and I have printed one out perfect.
