Mug discolouring

Hi there,

I am having some trouble with some of my mugs I am using new ink and new paper and my images are now coming out with a yellow tinge around them my heat press is the Cricut mug press it used to be ok now it’s starting to become an issue please see image attached

Over cooking by the look of it.

When you remove the mug from the press dunk it into some hot water before you even remove the paper and it should stop the bleeding edges.

I’ve never had to do this before the mugs have only just started doing this.

Many years ago I had a batch pf mugs that did this. When straight out of the press, they were fine. After a while there was a yellow tinge around any print. It was a crap coating. If I dunked them it stopped it, however a hot dish wash would cause it to appear.
I was printing a commercial mainly yellow print. Your red looks the same.

The mugs are from MDP I’ve had a couple of batches from them with some issues but not with all of them.

I use mdp mugs and dunk every one I press.
if I leave them to cool they bleed just like yours.

Try dunking in hot water just to amuse me.
it will solve your problem 100%

Yes I will in just a bowl of hot water?

I have also ordered a couple of a different make to test.

Yes I use a washing up bowl filled with hot tap water.

1. remove mug from press lower the mug into the water base first lowering into the water until submerged.
2. Shake in water and paper will fall away then remove Tape and dry.

And your printer nozzle checks are all clear?
Maybe too much ink on the paper and it’s still wet?

The first image is how mine used to come out when left to cool.
that last image is just awful god only knows what’s happened there. Lol
