Re: baseball caps

and it didn't come out very well
there was a big rectangle where the press had left an imprint
and it wrinkled up even though i made sure it was flat
and because of the wrinkles so of the text didn't print

Re: baseball caps
Do you have a spring tensioner on your hat press to pull the item tightly onto the platen?

Re: baseball caps
ok might be a daft question but are you using a cap press? the rectangle you mentioned is this the size of the paper you used if so thats a dye sub drawback im afraid, try pressing the cap without the transfer for 10 secs this hopefully will flatten the material and avoid the wrinkles and try a little less pressure to avoid the rectangle hope this helps

Re: baseball caps
yes its an attachment for my main press and yes its a proper cap thing
like a half round rubber mat and then the heating element is the opposite so they match together
if that makes sense lol

Re: baseball caps
its only a tiny bit of text i'm doing so the paper is about 1cm by 5cm
the shape thats being left is from the pressing element
and i'm using greaseproof paper between the heating element and the cap

Re: baseball caps
is it best with loads of pressure?
or not so much?
i watched a video that showed you how to attache the shaped thing onto the machine
i hadn't actually attached that part just had it on the floor so i guess i didn't have very much pressure
as when you try it just lifts the machine up rather that assert pressure

Re: baseball caps
you might try more padding/sponge behind the curve, to take up some of the room around the cap, and def pre press, before pressing. the trouble with a jack of all trades press - is just that, its not a dedicated press, what panel cap did you get ??
