Hi all,

What heat and temp would recommend for the Aluminum Flip Top Bottles from MDP, their sire recommends 190 for 60 seconds, they recommend the same for their mugs but they come out way to faint so I dont want to risk

Thank you

Not done them in a press for a long while but seem to remember they're 180secs.

MDP ceramic mug instructions are DIFFERENT to what the instructions say when you get their mug press and this has been many the argument with them over the past twelve months meaning we won't buy presses from them again. Rather than setting temp to say 185c and 185s and cooking a mug they now say, which is different to instruction leaflet, to put the mug in whilst the press is heating up and set to 60s so when temp is reached the mugs has already been half cooked meaning that it only has 60s left to do. This DOES NOT work with their mugs. What you are doing is setting your mug press to 60s and putting in item only for that length of time. So ignore what MDP say. BUT you are talking about metal which is totally different from ceramic mugs so indeed they are right'ish. We use 185c and 45s for metal and only put in metal bottle when the press is at 185.

Thank you, very confusing - if the press is at temp then there is no wait time... I'm in the market for a new press soon so will look elsewhere.
I will try the temp and time settings for the Alu bottle and let you know how I get on

Thanks

I agree the instructions are diabolical from mdp and they say all the items they sell are 190c for 60s but the
presses are fantastic and I wouldn’t buy another brand over these now.
Generally I use 185c 180s for all ceramics as per my post on this press.

So if you looking to get rid of yours olly give me a shout ;)

Ha ha we love the mug presses. We just don't buy them from mdp as they will not support them unless you use their method of pressing rather than instructions that come with press. Also the same mug presses are half the mdprice at signzworld so we buy them all from them. We have bank of eight :-)
