On the hunt for some decent heat presses.

I currently have an Adkins which I’m mostly happy with, but looking to keep that just for sublimation now and get a couple of heat presses for DTG/HTV.

I toyed with the idea a while back of either getting a stahls or sefa but as I need two (ideally), I don’t want to spend loads but want something reliable, and needs to have a pull out platen.

Any recommendations? Are the Heat Presses Direct presses any good that xpres have just started to sell?

Could you make do with swing away instead of the drawer? If so then Nova Chrome sell the Pressmech (unbadged) for just under £1000+ vat.

Alternatively TMT have their own range. I don't know how good they are, but TMT are a reputable company. To me they look very similar to the Galaxy presses - maybe re-badged or from the same factory?

Pressmech also do a bag press which may overcome the slide out requirement.
I have one that I haven't used for a while as I now don't do Tshirts or bags. It was ideal as I could print on both sides without fading from the heat.

I don’t have the space for two swing aways side by side unfortunately as they need quite a bit of room behind the press (that’s the issue I have with the current one).

I’ll have a look at magic touch but yeh they look very ‘Galaxy’ and haven’t had much luck with their mug presses in the past.

I get that pressmech are uk made but they’ve clearly put no thought into the design of their products haha. As above though, I don’t have the space for two swing aways unfortunately.

May just take a gamble with either a Galaxy/Magic Touch or HPD, or just wait and buy two Stahls IQ’s.

What about a shuttle? Two lower platens and one heated platen - takes up about the same room as two individual presses. Nearly as fast as individual presses - set one job up while the other is printing. Pressmech has a new one, and Secabo do one that is affordable.

I have one of these that I purchased cheap from Adkins (£500). soley used for hi vis. Increased output by about 90%. Probably made the money back on it within a month or so. Bets thing I have ever purchased

Fallen out of love with Adkins recently though as they sort of left me high and dry on some parts I needed.
