I don't print a large amount of mugs (esp compared to some of the members here), but need to order some more and just wanted to check the current state of play from those of you who purchase on a regular or bulk basis.
Previously my go-to mugs would be either LW Duraglaze or Xpres 5013's however over half of my last box of AAA grade LW mugs were either wonky, had multiple pin-holes, missing base stamps or other marks...I dread to think what the AA ones were like.
- I'm also aware that Xpres have had a few issues through changing their manufacturer for their mugs.
Can anybody who uses either of these advise on if there has been any improvement on the quality side of things lately, or if it's worth giving the MDP Orca ones a try?

Re: Mugs - Current options
We always use 5013 from Xpres (10oz) and I don't believe they changed supplier of these only the 11oz. We are currently getting through 8 boxes a day of 5013 and only 2 mugs have been non-usable.

We are using 5013’s at the moment and have experienced the opposite to Olly. We print around 400-500 mugs a day and have been getting 2 or 3 out of every box that have chips on the bottom and about 15 a day that don’t print properly.
I too had heard that xpres had changed supplier for the 5013’s in an effort to keep costs down and the mugs have definitely gone downhill since. The thing with xpres though is they will feed back any complaints to their product manager to get it investigated with the manufacturer. They also appreciate being told of issues so if anyone has any issues with 5013’s please do let xpres know (at least so I don’t feel I’m the only one complaining haha).
We’ve not yet ordered any since Christmas so I don’t know if the latest batch are any better than the last.

Olly, do you still use mug presses or have you moved over to ovens now?UK Printed Mugs;150262 wrote:We always use 5013 from Xpres (10oz) and I don't believe they changed supplier of these only the 11oz. We are currently getting through 8 boxes a day of 5013 and only 2 mugs have been non-usable.
