Mug oven recommendations. Single or double fan…
Re: Mug oven recommendations. Single or double fan…
Hi
I’ve got four “Blizzard ovens” but I actually bought these which are just badged differently, in stock and sold a bit cheaper than the Blizzard. Trust me it’s the same oven, exactly the same manual!

Out of interest, how many mugs can you do at one in this oven?garysub;150153 wrote:Hi

I print 16 at a time, two trays of 8 each. That seems to give a decent amount of space between each mug for air to flow.Paul;150156 wrote:Out of interest, how many mugs can you do at one in this oven?

lovely, thank you. Will look in to it myself.
And how long for 16 mugs?

Re: Mug oven recommendations. Single or double fan…
Depending on the design I have had as many as 24 in there.
A good rule of thumb is 18 (9 per tray).
Depending on the mugs and design it will take between 15-20 minutes per cycle. So expect between 54-96 per hour depending...
If you base per hour then go at the lower cycle because 1 person can happily work all day at 54 per hour. This includes opening the box, wrapping & clamping, cooking, cooling and reboxing. Fitting more on a tray may sound good, but you end up not having enough time to wrap or box if you get my drift.

Hi guys, I'm wondering if using shrink wrap would fix that problem?socialgiraffe;150099 wrote:Looking at the photo do a couple of things...
Firstly, put a steel ruler (or something straight) to make sure there is no "air" where it blurs. If you are unsure what I mean then ask and I will post a picture.
Secondly, if it happens, put the clamp to one side. Get another mug but turn the clamp upside down. If the blurring appears in the same place then it can not be the clamps, but if it is on the opposite side and at the bottom it would indicate the clamp has deteriorated.
By the way, if I was knocking out this sort of design and not full wraps I would consider purchasing mug presses instead. Stand alone ones and have as many as 5-10 on the go at once.
I'm looking into getting an oven mainly for frosted shot glasses as doing them in a press is a nightmare, so if I had that same issue using a oven, would shrink wrap sort that problem, or is shrink wrap to much effort/mess?
Paul.

if I were to do shot glasses at any sort of serious level I would consider a silicon mould designed specifically for the job and then a vacuum oven. Links to both items below:cook_58;150536 wrote:Hi guys, I'm wondering if using shrink wrap would fix that problem?

Obvioulsy not all moulds fit all shot glasses

Hi there. I have just purchased this oven and I wanted to speak to someone who uses it already. Are you able to let me know how long you put the mugs in for and what temp? Do you have the fan on whilst the mugs are in and do you start timing only once it reaches the set temp. Thanks!
Re: Mug oven recommendations. Single or double fan…
If it's the Blizzard (or similar) we are talking about then I print 16 at a time (two trays, 8 on each), set the temp to 170 and print for 20 minutes. I start timing from the moment they go into the oven. The fan runs the whole time on the Blizzard (which now makes me think you are talking about a different oven!rachaelxx182;152544 wrote:Hi there.
