Re: Been out of the loop for a while... is printing on cotton now a thing?

I have been looking at baby announcement ideas for a good friend of mine and noticed there are tons of baby grows \ body suits on Etsy that all look sublimated, but they all say they're made of "soft-feel cotton"? I could have swore that this was a no-go back in the day... Has something changed or are they fibbing? Would be really interested in getting back into this if we now a solution for printing on cotton.

(Please move this if it's in the wrong section, sorry)

Mainly DTG. Most machines comes with, or offer very small platens for baby stuff. And this is where people make £££

Ah ok, thats a shame. DTG looks like a heck of a headache compared to sublimation though... I guess it's not practical if you're not using it constantly either?

This was the other thing that made me curious - Ralawise are selling an 'all over sublimation baby bib' but it says it's 100% cotton?

You are right ....... except if you go down to the specification where it says:

The Babiezz™ bib is made ??of polyester on the front side and super soft cotton on the back side. The front side can be fully printed with sublimation designs.

Their question marks!

I'm pretty sure they mean polyester with a 'soft cotton' feel.

Thanks everyone, it does seem to be that people are just trying to find ways to blag around the polyester situation then  I also asked one of the Etsy sellers who were advertising a baby grow as 'soft cotton material' if they could guarantee me they were 100% cotton and they said no it's not 100% cotton and we don't advertise it as "100%" but there is a high enough cotton content.

High enough for what? lol
