Re: whats the current best A3+ dye sub printer?

Post by logobear »

Logobear have historically just used turnkey a4 Richo printers.
We are wanting somthing bigger - limited by our heat press size 38 x 50cm and perhaps with bulk ink if it is relable....

What are current best options?
Thanks

Bigger paper doesn't mean you need a bigger press of course. You can just print more out quickly and cut down in size. We have tried EVERY single bloody printer out there (from A4, A3, A3+, 17" and now 24") and just bought another refurbished 24" Epson 7800 from ReproRepairs.co.uk which is just amazing. We run both printers at the same time and quality is incredible. I just got another DSF member (and friend) to buy one who own a much larger company and they are very pleased as well. Give John a call at https://www.reprorepairs.co.uk/home/ and you can rent the printer if you don't want to buy!

Epson L1800 is ecotank version of the excellent 1500W but very expensive and getting harder to source.

We've just sold our F6300, superb printer and incredibly cheap to run... Will miss it but more need for smaller now.

Out of interest, do you print mugs using your 24"? If so, how do you find cutting down to mug size?

We currently have 2 Epson ET5800's and they're great. They hold about 120-140 sheets of sublimation paper and we print 3 mugs per sheet. Considering getting some Sawgrass SG500's but don't know whether to just stick with Epsons.

I know my friend and definitely member purchased the 7800 purely for mugs and they auto cut after each sheet and then of course guillotine down. I might see if they can add to this post with regard process and how it compares to previously printed A3 paper. The colour matching was the issue and so the 7800 was chosen to be the best especially when needing to do hundreds a day.
