Re: Heat Transfer Vinyl on Sawgrass Printer

Post by SimpleBox »

Hi there, I am very new to sublimation and recently I have an opportunity to help out on my relative's business who is doing sublimation printing.
They have been doing regular sublimation like mugs, pillow and coasters, and we recently wanted to venture into printing like t-shirt and tote bag (canvas material). We tested using the sublimation with truepix paper on tote bag (canvas material) and the result is not what we are expected. The colour printed on the canvas totebag was light and dull.

I have been doing research on HTV and technique and seems like using HTV paper is the correct way to sublimate on t-shirt or tote bag that are not polyester material.

Questions :
- Can we use sublimation printer to print on HTV paper ? (we are currently using Sawgrass SG800).
- What kind of HTV paper is suitable for Sublimation printer ? I have been doing a little of research and found that siser easysubli htv can be used on Sawgrass, however it is not cost effective to use siser easysubli htv.

Many thanks !

HTV is not a paper. it's Heat Transfer Vinyl. And no, cant print directly on vinyl with sublimation ink.
As far as I know you can PRESS on some vinyls and then cut it out. but as you said, this is not cost effective and doesn't look to great.
