Re: Royal mail 24 Tracked pricess ?

Post by Ravisteam »

Hi Guys , I was quoted from Royal mail today as this

The prices exclude fuel surcharge of 4% and vat

Letterboxable tracked 24 £2.99
Letterboxable tracked 48 £2.20
Tracked 24 £3.79
Tracked 48 £2.79
Tracked rtn 48 £2.79

And 10 000 items per year ! . currently I have CRL 24 (No tracking ) only £1.15 ..and I thought their tracked price is too much for large letters (Letterboxable tracked 24 £2.99 plus VAT and 4% fual charge ). What do you guys use ..??. Do you have their tracked 24 and how much you guys pay ..??. I feel like my business manager gave me a expensive quote lol..

CRL 48 is our standard method of postage for LL in the UK. If the basic tracking of postage says delivered should the customer claim Item Not Received, the royal mail delivery confirmation is acceprted by the online sales platforms. That does for us. Your post suggests that you have no proof of postage with the method you are using, you may be mistaken.

We use Tracked, predominantly 48.
Tracked is prioritised like Special Delivery above standard 1st/2nd class (like CRL), so when they get rammed at Christmas, and other times of year, Tracked still get there.
The price includes daily collections.
Also, the prices you have are set per item, regardless of weight and size, as long as your average weight stays around the same.
Maximum weight is either 20 or 30kg (depending on who you ask) and max size is 46x46x61cm (we have boxes made to this size!)

As a postie, I can vouch for Tracked service being prioritised above all but special deliveries.
Even during the most high pressure periods you can guarantee that all tracked items are delivered on time. I always switch over to tracked service during 4th quarter.

Hi Timm thanks for the input .How much did they quote you ??. I just wanted to see the price I got was resanable as I thought it was little expensive but seeing your reply it seems a good solution if they are better than normal CLR 24 (So many items go missing and late etc ).

I have refudned many items in the last 2 months even tho CRL 24 shows it delivered customers were taking the advantage of Amazon and saying item was not delivered so I had to refund them .But I was told if I had a proper tracking service they cannot do it . .

Pls let me know how much they charge you so I can find out if they have given me a good price or not lol..

Thanks again for you help TIM..

No, Tracked codes are
TPS = Tracked 48
TPN = Tracked 24
TRS = Letter Box Tracked 48
TRN = Letter Box Tracked 24

Although the codes don't matter, as the service doesn't work through the old OBA interface, only through Click and Drop.

The prices in the initial post are better than ours, as we've only been on the 1000, and 5000 unit pricing, and our average weights are around 2kg

Large letters would go LBT, and the parcels as 1kg

OR

Don't use LBT, and use your 300g packages to bring down the average weight of your parcels ... look at what your normal % of each is, and ask for another quote based on all your volume going T48 at a much lower average weight.
