Re: Posts vanishing

Post by Baldy »

is anybody else having issues with vanishing posts?
I posted yesterday asking about a product on a supplier site.
I had a look today to see if there were any replies and after finding no sign of the post, put it down to lack of sleep / poss not hitting 'submit'.

I've re-posted, and it's gone again. WTF?
No idea if it's a bug or if one of the admins is removing them. -maybe they don't like the supplier, who knows, but if that is the case it'd be nice to get a message to confirm the reason, that's all I'm saying

I sent you a PM about these posts. The supplier you mentioned have explicity said they want nothing to do with the forum and asked that all posts with any relation to them be removed.

I think I know who you mean Justin but surely a forum is a platform for free speech? Would be a shame if we are not open to discuss any aspect of sublimation from sharing tips to supplier issues. Just my 2p worth.

This supplier was taking legal action against us, I won't go into all the details and would appreciate if anyone that involved did the same please.

I completely agree that we should all have freedom of speech but on this occasion I'm more than happy to abide by their request as it will only be losing them business.

Thanks for that Justin. I'll make a note.Their loss I guess really.
I presume we're safe to ask about a product/pressing tips in general just as long as there's no mention of them in there.

May be worth having one of those 'views expressed' disclaimers on the front page
Something like:
The opinions, beliefs and viewpoints expressed by the various authors and forum participants on this site do not necessarily reflect the opinions, beliefs and viewpoints of the admins or official policies of the Dye Sublimation Forum:smile:

It would boil down to who could afford the most expensive lawyers. Any supplier is a business, whereas this forum isn't really, and doesn't have as deep pockets to protect their interests.
It's an unfortunately situation, that yes, we are allowed free speech, but need the money behind you to back that up.

I must say that saying we can't know just makes me want to know even more.
