Re: Doming supplies
I’m looking at doming and can’t find anything very cheap.
mdp seem to be the cheapest @£55+vat
Is there not a main supplier that’s cheaper?

Re: Doming supplies
I've never done any doming, only casting, but that MDP stuff looks hideously expensive!
As Paul has said, why not just buy bulk doming resin and hardener and apply it using a small spatula and help it along with a cocktail stick, as shown in a lot of YouTube videos. You don't need fancy tubes requiring a special applicator. Just make sure you buy doming resing and not casting resin.

Re: Doming supplies
No good. Casting resins don't have the high viscosity needed for doming.dave64;146359 wrote:They sell Clear Casting / Coating Resins

Liquid Lens. 1:1 resin. Pricey but good solid consistent results. MDP are good but their 2:1 doming resin is cack. Cures tacky.
Liquid Lens is great when cured at 20c and humidity below 40% Glass finish and dry to the touch after 24hrs.

Re: Doming supplies
You don't need the paraphernalia, they'll sell you 10 cartridges of resin if you ask them to get started. All you need is a 1:1 dispenser gun from ebay, a flame torch to pop the bubbles, a level surface and steady hand.
I'm at the buying bulk stage just now. It'll reduce my cost from £9 a cartridge to around £4 a cartridge. I'm testing samples at the moment before pulling the trigger.
