4x6 label printers
Re: 4x6 label printers
It's getting to the point now where printing on A4, cutting and sticking with tape is getting pretty time consuming now.
Can anybody recommend a decent one? WiFi ideal but not essential if it's going to add a fortune on top.
Thanks

Zebra GK420D or ZP450
Just USB, not WiFi as standard, but there are WiFi versions, but much more cost.
If you want to use the free labels from Royal Mail then these are definitely the models to look at.
Keep an eye on ebay for used ones

Re: 4x6 label printers
We print our Royal Mail labels on a Canon inkjet set to A5 Landscape (adhesive labels are A6 size, two to a sheet).
Another dead cheap solution would be to use clear, adhesive-backed document wallets that you just pop your plain labels into and stick to the package.

Re: 4x6 label printers
I use a zebra gk420 when I opened my Royal Mail oba they gave me a discount on the machine through barcode warehouse.
I order 50 rolls of labels at a time from rm for free along with my cable Ties and other bits.
If you opened a Royal Mail oba you get a decent discount.

At the minute I am just printing 4 to an A4 page and then using sellotape after cutting them up, it is quite cheap so I am just working out if it's worth it price versus time.webtrekker;145950 wrote:We print our Royal Mail labels on a Canon inkjet set to A5 Landscape (adhesive labels are A6 size, two to a sheet).

Zebra printer with RM account, free labels, no ink costs.
You also get the adhesive document wallets free from RM, and cable ties as already mentioned,

Thanks, my main issue is the labels. I don't really use RM that much so would need to be paying for them which would be the main ongoing cost.
Re: 4x6 label printers
Yes, you'd need to buy labels if you don't have an RM business account, but you then don't have ink costs, and will save time just peeling and sticking labels, compared to cutting out and faffing with sellotape.
For me it seemed rediculous to have a tiny printer just for printing address labels (I like big printers!) But, as soon as we got one, we've never looked back, and now have three of them.

Open an account with rm it doesn’t mean you have to use itNickH;146125 wrote:Thanks, my main issue is the labels. I don't really use RM that much so would need to be paying for them which would be the main ongoing cost.
I haven’t sent anything through my oba in almost a year.
I use click and drop for letters and large letters and the odd small parcel.
Royal Mail prices are shooting through the roof again in January so I think I’ll be moving to whistle but for the printer and labels definitely open a rm oba account
