Re: Print issue Ricoh 3110DN - Someone kind enough to help?

Post by bendee2020 »

Hi Guys
I have been sublimating for a few years with my Ricoh 3110DN but in recent weeks i have been starting to get issues- i am hoping someone has seen these issues before and can help?

Please see attached image - i have strange black lines on the left side which can pop up anywhere across the paper. also the blue is faded in one area on this image, this seems to only happen at the end of a print

Any help would be appreciated!

I am running Rico 3310DN printer with sawgrass inks and truepix paper.

Thanks
Ben

I'm not at my work PC at the moment to check out my Ricoh settings, but do you have your printer set to fast paper feed by any chance? I print at high quality, plain paper settings and normal feed speed, if that's any help.

Of course, it may be that the printhead has just seen better days and is on its way out.

Try cleaning the printer encoding strip with a lint-free cloth. Be firm, but gentle! The encoding strip is a length of plastic tape running the width of the printer.

[Edited:] Here is a link to my printer service manual (not the user guide). Read in particular from page 151 ...

I may remove this link at a future date so grab it while you can!
