latte mugs

well i done my 1st, 2nd and 3rd latte mugs today
it is text i was practising with to see about the warping
i use photoshop on my mac
and wow its really easy
just go to edit/transform/warp
and this box appears over your image and you just move it however you want it

the 1st 2 mugs went in the bin lol as you can't really tell what they are like until your sub them
but the last one has come out nice

there isn't much of a slope on my latte mugs but enough to send the text weird
i will try an image later like a cross or something and see what happens

i will have to try and make a template for these mugs as all the ones i've seen are too curved

If I am in doubt with how the a/w will look on a mug(especially a latte) i print the a/w out on a normal ink printer, cut it out and wrap it wround as a check before committing to sublimating.

I just had a go at this with a downloaded corel template (which is actually a jpeg so could be used with any/most programs I guess)

Loaded up the template in corel photo, overlaid artwork then used the shear tool and works pretty well, text was added in corel draw (fit to path tool) - works nicely.

Easy to make your own template though, wrap some paper round mug, fold over top and bottom, mark side edges, remove paper, draw in curved lines along folds for top and bottom, straight lines for ends near handle. Then cut out and scan it as a jpeg and then you have your own template that you know will fit your mugs

Good tip as previously mentioned, do a quick draft print on plain paper to be sure it all looks right .

i wasn't happy with the original one so decided to re-do it lol
i'm a bit of a perfectionist annoying sometimes

the wife kept saying it was fine but the end 2 letters had a slight slope so i wasn't happy lol

horrid things latte i can see why ppl don't do them

it took me 4 attempts to get it right in the end

kinda works out expensive that way
