Re: Photoshop options
Hi all,
I currently have Photoshop Elements 8 - yep it's old! But it has mostly catered for what I have needed up to now.
What's your opinion on the Adobe subscription for £20/month? Is it worth the upgrade?
Alternatively, I've seen Elements 2020 on ebay for around £85.
I'll probably do the free trial, but I wanted your opinions on it first.

Re: Photoshop options
£20? I pay a tenner a month for Photoshop + Lightroom. I'm not a fan of subscription software but I don't miss £10 a month and it's the best graphics software out there. If you'd like similar but cheaper options try Affinity, or the free Gimp. For vector work the free Inkscape is more than good enough for sublimation work.

Re: Photoshop options
Can;t stand Adobe, support really does my head in. That said, we do use Photoshop on subscription as it saves a lot of hassle. I would very much prefer to print from other sofwtare via Linux but nothing can match Photoshop. We also own Afiinity Photo (£50 one off, less if on offer) which is superb but doesn't have smart object editing. If you need the latter you cna use Photopea on line which is excellent.

Yes, photography pack I think it's called is about £10 a month inc VAT for Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom
You can use the subscription on two computers at a time.
We have two subscriptions, for 4 computers.

Can I ask if you have a link for that please?webtrekker;144367 wrote:£20? I pay a tenner a month for Photoshop + Lightroom. I'm not a fan of subscription software but I don't miss £10 a month and it's the best graphics software out there.
Yes the standard subscription is £19.97 per month.
I'm keen to stick somewhat with what I know (ie PS), but I need to know it's worth it for that price!

Ah ok, I've not looked j to those packages. Maybe that's what webtrekker was referring to. I do a lot of designing from scratch - like mugs, invitations etc so I need something to be versatile like the PSE8 that I've been using.pisquee;144377 wrote:Yes, photography pack I think it's called is about £10 a month inc VAT for Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom

Now 'only' £8.32/month, incl. VAT.
The built in A.I. 'Select Subject' (for easy background removal) is now getting super-good.

webtrekker you're a star, thank you.
Just one last question... surely that PS must be different to the one at £19.97 somehow?

Re: Photoshop options
Yes, I remember this confusing me too when I took out my subscription. I initially paid the £20 monthly subscription but noticed £10 was being mentioned in various articles on the web. I looked into it and it appears there is no difference between the 2 plans other than the £10 plan comes with 20Gb of cloud storage, whereas the £20 plan has 1Tb of storage.CharlieGYW;144381 wrote:@webtrekker you're a star, thank you.

I wasn't interested in cloud storage as I store everything on my PC, or my own unlimited webhost, so I contacted Adobe and got my plan reduced to the £10 plan. It's all smoke and mirrors with Adobe, you have to read the fine print!
Anyway, the cheaper plan has worked out fine for me for a couple of years now and I couldn't do without Photoshop now.
