I've been sublimating mouse pads for a while now. No major problems so far (touch wood) especially if I pre-press the pads at a high pressure for 15-20 seconds first (really helps with the edges).
I noticed that although the blacks on my pads are pretty decent, by accident today I left my Sawgrass Print Manager set to "ceramic" instead of "mouse mats" after I had sublimated a bunch of mugs. After printing out a mouse pad with PM set to ceramic, I noticed that the blacks on my pads were a bit darker, so a rare win there and I'll be using the ceramic setting for my mouse pads from now on!
Although this isn't exactly a problem I'm intrigued to know what the difference between the Sawgrass PM "ceramic" and "Mouse pad" settings are. Does anyone know?
