I'd say the actual time taken is about the same (I guess it depends what you're cooking and how much you put in the bowl), but you don't need half an hour to heat the thing up! ).The other key advantage is that you can see through the glass bowl at all times. No more guessing if it's nearly cooked or keep opening the oven door to make sure it's not burning.
They're easy to wash as well. Put water in the bottom of the bowl, turn the oven on to the wash cycle, and it heats the water while the fan swirls it around the bowl. Much better than hands-and-knees in the big oven.
It's well worth its £50.
