Re: Passport covers

Hi everyone,

Has anybody got any tips on printing the double sided passport covers please. I’ve wasted 15 as the glue keeps coming through the stitches under the press. I’ve tried preheating to remove any glue before pressing and that didn’t work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

We gave up on passport covers, as the seconds rate was too high, so outsourced them to giftflow/solejuice

I cant see your photos, broken link?

I've been doing them, haven't had an issue until 2 days ago when i got a new batch from my usual place isub-supplies, glue coming out at the stitch, no idea if they're the same passport covers as you have, the company are looking into it for me. There is another company who do the same ones as isub supplies, called subliblanks so I've ordered some from them to see if i have the same problem.

I did notice the ones i got from isub supplies are slightly different from the ones i have had before, theyre about 1cm shorter in length, seem to be slighy thicker with the elastic slightly thinner on them and no card supplied behind the cardholder inside the holder.

I'll leave some photos, see if its the same problem you have.ImageImageImage

Hi,

Thank you both for replying. Looks like it’s a common issue with the passport covers which is such a shame. They’re the same as mine and the exact problem I’m having with them. Mine were all from subliblanks and didn’t come with cardboard either

The suppliers may have changed something with them, as i havent had this problem before and theyre slightly smaller now. I'd message subliblanks about it.

Subliblanks and Isub-supplies seem to source them from the same factory in China, thus the same problem arising for both of you. It's such a shame as these are products in demand and you don't want to disappoint your customers with poor quality sublimation products. There was another UK supplier (wholesaler) offering passport covers but then the problem was that the print quality failed. So can't give any recommendations at the moment. Anyone having any useful comment could chime in :)

We have had this problem off and on. When we discussed it with manufacturer they switched to a slightly thicker print surface material which helped. The glue seaps through the stitched part and thicker material kept the holes from stretching it appeared.
Tell your supplier what happened as they need to overcome the problem. Not much can be done otherwise as you only find out which ones have the issue after heating and softening the glue.

I receieved my passport holders from subli-blanks, and they're exactly the same as the ones i had got from isub-supplies, so i'm going to try one but suspect it shall leak glue then email the both companies about it.
See whats happening with it.
