Re: Posting International..US , Aussi ..etc ...

Currently I get some orders from US via ETSY and charging £8 for postage track and sing .....Just thinking if the postage cost only £1.60 just do free postage to US , but no tracking ....What you guys use for international postage ?. and hoe much they cost you ..Do you send them with Tracking or no tracking (Tracking cost a lot it seems ) ...
How about US buyers ..! is there many lost in post cases to US ..Pls share your experience ..Thanks in advance ..

I send to USA a lot but I just use international standard and for some reason it gives you a tracking number?
a 100g large letter is £3.45
a 100g letter is £2.30
I used to use my Royal Mail business account but bagging and tagging and paperwork was a nightmare and took too long.
Now I just use the standard click and drop and dump it all at my local post office they sort it out for me

I use International Standard when sending to USA, Australia etc. Just get the proof of posting certificate when I go to the post office.
It's very reasonable pricing and think it's 7-10 days for delivery.

We use Royal Mail's International Business services - M codes on Click and Drop which you need to apply for - cheaper than their non business versions. We send everything Tracked and Signed parcels, or just Tracked when Tracked and Signed isn't available.

I've used International Standard without issue for about four years to send items with a value of £15 and weight of 500g to the USA.
If you're selling tees, you can send as a large letter if you get the right sized cardboard envelopes.
If you are selling on Etsy, then the buyers *tend* to be of high quality and won't try and screw you by pretending it never arrived.
If you are sending regularly to the US, you should look into using USPS, as the items are tracked and the postage is cheap.
I've been using them for about three months and so far, no lost parcels.

I've been using it via PoD, so they have the volume, but I've just started to look into it myself as it is apparently possible.Mrteajunkie;141881 wrote:How are you using usps from uk?
I've just looked at some tracking info for something a customer received yesterday:
Tracking History

RENO, NV 89503
Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox at 9:48 am on February 11, 2020 in RENO, NV 89503.
February 11, 2020, 7:10 am

February 10, 2020, 12:58 pm

RENO, NV 89503
February 10, 2020, 11:43 am
Accepted at USPS Destination Facility
RENO, NV 89503
February 10, 2020, 10:38 am
Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending
RENO, NV 89503
February 8, 2020
Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item
This was for an item posted from UK on 31st January, but the USPS tracking info starts on the 8th February, so it must have gone via an intermediary here, then either handled via USPS here, or when it arrived in the US.
However, the tracking info was available right from the 31st Jan when it was posted. Hmmm.
Re: Posting International..US , Aussi ..etc ...
I was given some codes last week , IG1,MP1,MTA etc...and they send me a excel sheet for the prices but I cannot figure out how to check the prices for these services , I was told large letter would cost £1.69 to US but dont know how to find the prices ..Do you know how to find out how much each codes cost me ...On click and drop they dont show the prices on their system ..!!pisquee;141859 wrote:We use Royal Mail's International Business services - M codes on Click and Drop which you need to apply for - cheaper than their non business versions. Re: Posting International..US , Aussi ..etc ...
Assuming you have the same type of spreadsheet to us (although your pricing may be different)
The country List (tab 3) shows which services Tracked&Signed / Tracked / Signed are available for each country
The first tab is no compensation services for letters (IP1), large letters (IG1) and parcels (IE1) with the prices for the different weight bands (I don't think these are tracked or signed)
The second tab, is the compensation services for letters, large letters, and parcels which can be either signed, tracked, or tracked and signed.
We don't use the non tracked/signed codes
Assuming you want the cheapest letter cost, you need to look at the 1st tab "no comp", then letters to the US is the IP1/Non EU column, with prices from 10 g upto 100 grams
