Re: Not sure what epson printer to get

Post by kevlar »

Hi all,

I have moved abroad to Hong Kong and I am looking to buy a printer for my sublimation business but they have different epson models here compared to the UK, so it is hard for me to get hold of models like WF-7710..

I am thinking to get Epson XP-6001 (think the uk equivalent of this model is XP-6000), will this work for sublimation? and would this be a good choice? Not sure what the "Expression" printing quality is like compared with the "Workforce" series.

They also have WF-2631 (think WF-2630 is the uk equivalent model), is this a good option?

These are the current epson printers available to buy here:
https://www.epson.com.hk/For-Work/Print ... ers/c/w110
https://www.epson.com.hk/For-Home/Print ... ers/c/h110

They do the WF-7721 but it will cost me around 320 quid here and I am looking for something a bit cheaper and the XP-6001 is roughly 130 quid only.

Hopefully someone can help me.
Thanks!

This is the best one, if you want to spend that much.

Otherwise the 2630 is a good printer if you can get away with A4. The 2631 is probably the same - the 1 on the end is likely to indicate a small regional variation such as different driver language or maybe different voltage.

If HK is anything like the UK then the prices on the website will be out of any proportion to the prices the product is actualy sold for.

Thanks for replying.
The L1800 is a bit too costly for me as I am just starting out, in the future I might use it.

Might just go for the 2631, as this printer is quite cheap here, hopefully print quality is good..
