Re: which sublimation paper is best?

Hi

Just curious to know what sublimation paper everyone uses, and if tried a few, which is better?

I currently have a ricoh 3110dn and was using the truepix paper. i ran out and now have xpres paper, but am unsure if it is as good as the truepix.

thanks

Trupix for us. Xpres economy paper was always decent but not as good.
Ink Experts recently reviewed a new paper that they are sticking, not tried it myself but tests results look very impressive.

Personally, I've never had a problem with CIE's own brand. I use the same paper for all substrates.

Many of the cheaper papers are fine and you'll see tests on here with very cheap papers which again can give good results.

It's worth testing a cheaper paper against premium just to see the difference usually in the ink release.

I find that TruePix (whatever way they spell the name these days), is the most reliable paper in my Epsons. Other papers often cause problems down the line. I plan to trial some S-Race paper soon.

I find that the S-race is better on fabric than the Trupix XPHR, with the added benefit that it is available in A3+. Considering that the XPHR is designed for Epson, and most A3 Epsons are actually A3+, I find it incredible that XPHR isn't available in the larger size in the UK.

The only S-race paper that is available in the UK is the 'multi purpouse' 120gsm, which is a shame. All of the other S-race papers are fabric specific and I would like to try them.

I want to try Ink Experts own HR fabric paper in a production run soon. I tried some samples and the results looked good.

Is that still available? It seemed to be everywhere a few years ago.

Yes, coralgraph, dye sublimation supplies plus ebay and amazon still sell it. I've just stuck with it as it works for me.
