Re: How to Correct for Cutting?

Post by Stitch Up »

Good morning all

Although I use Coreldraw quite often, I'm a little stuck with this one!

The problem is hi-lighted in yellow - I don't want the 'criss cross' cutlines for obvious reasons.

[The extension eps has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

I'm not sure which Corel tools I should use to correct this for cutting.

I'll try and attach the vector file if the forum allows.

Any tips would be gratefully received - I did look on YouTube but couldn't find the help I needed.

John

Don't use Corel, but in Serif the easiest/quikest way to do that would be to create a contour with the exact measure set to 0%/0mm. Remove the original text afterward.

Otherwise you can edit the nodes, deleating some and joining others.

I use dedicated cutting software, SCAL5, where these problems don't occur with text.

In coreldraw, select the text convert to curves and then weld the objects. Or you may need to select the text break apart text, then convert to curves, select all the objects and weld together.

Thanks for the replies guys. thanks to Iain for the phone call, all very much appreciated.

The design isn't a font, I wish it was as the Corel tools make correcting these crossing lines easy :)

All sorted now.

Cheers
