Re: Blue wave heat press

Post by Pinksmiler »

Hi everyone I have just recently bought a Blue Wave swing away heat press.

The first press I ordered had to be returned as the alarm wasn't working on it.

Following on from that every job I did was returned to me!! The vinyl kept just peeling off. I have been in business with my other press for four years and never had one item returned, I have literally pressed thousands of items so I am mortified by this new press. My regular customers understood so I was lucky.

So update,.... I managed to use this after making adjustments with the pressure. Now after only 2 months it's stopped heating up at all. It's now getting to the busiest time of the year and I have no working press.

I've bought lots of mugs from Signzworld before and never had a problem at all but this press was definitely a mistake.

Anybody else ha any problems? A phone call to the company I guess in the morning :(

Have you checked the platen temperature? What vinyl are you using? I'd personally have thought it was either the vinyl or the garments.

Did the vinyl appear to adhere OK when you pressed?

they are the same garments I always use and the same vinyl. So items seem to adhere ok only to fall off later.

Are you sure it's not something as simple as the wrong Fahrenheit/Centigrade setting? It's a simple mistake to make, thinking you are working in one, when it is, in fact, the other.

this is what I thought but no it’s not that, I trying upping the temp ten degrees and burnt my tester lol. I’m sure it’s Something simple but with so much work to do it’s frustrating. When I have had success with getting the vinyl to stick and it looks fine, i’ve washed it to make sure, again sometimes it’s fine and other times the vinyl has come off.
I know it’s probably a process of elimination but more inclined to send it back.

Might be a bad batch of vinyl. Have you tried other rolls?

What colour vinyl are you using? I have picked up white off my shelf before cut weeded and applied to find out I have picked up printable vinyl and not just normally HTV. So didn’t stick.

It would be useful to know what garments and vinyl you're using so we can offer possible help.

Hi thank you.
i use Gildan and FOTL. Also Russell. Vinyl i use MDP hot flex. Never had a problem with any of these before. Just the new press, looks like the vinyl has stuck only to come off in the wash.
