Its been two years since my last visit, so I thought I would pop in and see how everyone is, find out whose left and see who is new.
Can anyone tell me what developments there have been in the dye sub world in the last two years please?
Are direct to garment printers cheaper?
Has the white toner laser printer systems got better or are they still as faffy to use as always.
Lok forward to hearing whose doing what and what happening in the business.
Hello again all
Re: Hello again all
Don't think there's been much change in dyesub really, SawGrass have somewhat lost their stranglehold on the inks, and it's more accepted to not use their inks, although they have their own rebranded Ricoh printers to try and keep their business going. InkTec have become stronger with more ranges of dye sub inks, including official 100ml bottles, and other companies are manufacturing (and/or rebranding) their own inks.
White toner is still faffy ... we have a Ghost, and it sits there not doing much as it's too faffy and stressy for me to be bothered with. My wife keeps trying to make it work, but not having time to faff with it enough either to get a viable product, and economic and consistent workflow out of the thing.

Re: Hello again all
I wonder if you could have bought an ordinary HP laser and a white toner cartridge, print, swap black for white, invert image and reprint using white instead of black?
As you say all seems very faffy. must be a market for it though
