Large Format Advice - Which model?

Hi all. We currently run the Epson P800 with 17" roll paper but even after 3 months we are finding we need something bigger. Not that interested in 24" as we still can't print a lot of our items side by side to save time (e.g. door mats) so I presume we would need to go 44"?

If anyone prints larger than 17" (ideally 44") could you recommend a suitable printer and inks. Xpres state the FC-6200 but they did say droplet size is larger which worries us as we mainly do fine art printing for artists onto coasters/placemats so don't want to lose detail/quality.

Any advice warmly appreciated.

We're still running an old Epson 9600 (44") with InkTec DTI/Sublinova. Trying to get an Epson 11880 (64") up and running, but keep hitting brick walls with it.

Th 6200 only looks to be 4 colours, which if you're doing fine art isn't going to be enough, you should be looking at at least 6 colours really.

Oh ok, didn't realise 4 colours so thank you. Will ditch the 6200 idea then! Any more options from people appreciated as we want to buy a current model ideally which therefore will have some warranty.

Looking on Epson website, if you want a fully supported/warrantied Epson, they only have 4 colour sublimation printers, with the SC-f9300 being the top one, which does have 8 ink channels, but uses them as dual CMYK ... so you could get a non subli specific Epson with more colour channels and put InkTec Sublinova in it, bu am not sure what that would do to your warranty/support

The older Epson Pro series printers such as 9880 9800 9890 etc all would do the job Olly, also they use the same inktec ink set as the P600 and P800 models so you'd be half way there with one of those. We had a 9880 for 5 years, never missed a beat. They typically sell second hand for £500-1000 depending on condition, whats included.
