Re: Inktec Pigment Ink 1500W
I have a spare Epson 1500W printer which has been sitting around gathering dust, waiting for my main printer to fail, so I thought I would load it up with pigment ink instead. Can anyone recommend a brand which works well? I would be keen to use Inktec ink with top quality glossy photo paper.
Will my 'sublimation' CISS run into any issues with pigment ink?
Thanks.

We used to use InkTec's PowerChrome inks in an Epson Stylus Pro 4000 (8 colours 17" wide) and they worked really well, along with in a desktop 6 colour Epson (can't remember model number now)
We are currently planning on getting a 2nd SP11880 up and running on Inktec pigment once we get the 1st one sorted for sublimation

The inktec inks (for Pro 9880 and similar machines) can be used in the 1500W. You can utilise the current sublimation ciss but make sure its cleaned out well and that it was fully functioning beforehand (the cartridges can take a bit of beating from sub ink so can wear out the seals and microfilters inside them - they are however easy and cheap to replace)
You would also need a custom ICC profile making to match the inks to the 1500W. Pureprofiles would be able to sort that easily for you for around £15.00
With regards to the paper, ensure you use a resin coat (RC) micro porous or nanoporous photo paper. Cheaper cast coated papers (typically chinese supplied) don't take the inks well and they can scratch off easily or puddle on the surface as there's no microporous layer to hold the ink on the surface of the paper.

I got the Inktec Powerchrome K3 pigment ink and purchased a profile from pureprofiles, but they have refunded me without explanation. Is there someone else who can make a good profile?InkExperts;139190 wrote:The inktec inks (for Pro 9880 and similar machines) can be used in the 1500W.

Really, that's odd have you emailed Sam (sam@pureprofiles.com) to ask why he cancelled the order?GoonerGary;139642 wrote:I got the Inktec Powerchrome K3 pigment ink and purchased a profile from pureprofiles, but they have refunded me without explanation. I contacted the support@pureprofiles email address from my order with no reply. The Paypal account owner Mark refunded the payment.

Very strange, may I ask when this was ordered Gary? I have not long had some ICC profiles produced by Pureprofiles.

I'm now in urgent need of a custom profile. Can anyone make one for me?
