Ghosting Epson 1500W, ANY IDEAS??
Re: Ghosting Epson 1500W, ANY IDEAS??
Hi,
have some very strange problem. there is a ghost image, but not on all colors. I checked its not from file or software. What could that be. Nozzle check perfect. Last week had some nozzles dry and used the wet paper method below head for 15 minutes, wiper and all is perfectly clean.
Check images. Aws you can see not all colors bleed. But i am not sure how to find which one and if that would help.
Any ideas how to solve this? Have a rush order waiting and ...

Looks like over spray, maybe worth a quick head clean just in case.

Did some cleans. Same. But narrowed it down that its the blue color. So changed color of letters from blue to black and violet to red and its ok.
I think from the unclogging and the paper towel below the head, there is something like a dust or something that stayed there. But how do i wipe it without disassembling it? Or maybe the head is failing already, though it has 500 prints and one year, who knows...

It's always the cyan!
I resurrected a 1500 a while back by putting an IPA soaked cloth under the head. It was a last resort as I was ready to ditch it but it worked a treat and it's going strong..... touch wood.

If you run blank paper through on a feed is there anything coming off?
Re: Ghosting Epson 1500W, ANY IDEAS??
I use printer almost every day, and if not i print a purge sheet. But from time to time nozzles dry as i am in very dry environment. So i had yellow ink missing the other day. I put a soaked paper towel/window cleaner/ and then did a clean. All worked fine.
BUt maybe the towel touched the head or something, cause i think i have the problem from then on. Not sure though, as its not visible on ny job.
Nozzle check is perfect, head alignment perfect, did run 50 x A3 empty pages to clean rollers.
Shouldn't the clean wiper clean the head if i touched it with the paper towel?
Just did nozzle check, again, problem with blue, so i am again using the soaked paper under the head for 15 min...

Paper towels have fibres which shed easily. Use a J cloth or similar.
