You may have been thinking of the S20 that uses the same cartridges as the S21. The S21 uses a common set of cartridges (including the slightly-larger capacity ones that can be used in 37 different printer models - including the B40W), but the S22 uses oddball ones.

The situation is getting better with multiple printers sharing cartridges, but there are still elephants in the room.
