Hi there

I'm after FULLY translucent window stickers to be made up with my own designs. These will be very colourful, circular in shape and about 4" & also 6" in diameter. The colours and design should be visible on both sides of the sticker - there should be NO white backing to the design at all. I would be looking to start with about 10 different designs and probably
about 20-50 prints of each.

I paint glass sun catchers (see attached photos for examples) and want to develop a new range of designs - but on window stickers (preferably ones that can be removed if necessary). Thus I am wanting to recreate the effect of sunshine coming through the colours & lighting them up, as they do on glass. A white background will therefore destroy the effect I am trying to achieve, as it renders all the colours opaque.

I have tried several online printing companies, who have all claimed that they can give me a transparent window sticker - but so far every single one has put a white backing onto the design. I have seen stickers around which have the effect I want - but don't seem to be able to find anyone who can print them for me........

Can anyone here help me?

I fear that you may not get the vibrancy you have with your original colours. Printing onto clear without backing in white always makes the colours look washed out. Well using my solvent printer with four colours it does. There are some members on here who have printers that can print white ink or maybe a 6 ink system so they may have produced something along the lines you are looking for.
I can send you some samples if you want to message me.

Many thanks

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.

Hi lanterngirl2007

Could this be the type of thing you are looking for? (Non-UK site) ...

DESCRIPTION:

Australian Made Suncatcher luminous decals capture a similar ambience to stained glass. These beautiful Australian themed designs are screen printed using luminous transparent colours and die cut to shape. Suncatcher decals will adhere to any smooth surface such as car and house windows, glass doors, skylights, children's rooms, shower screens, mirrors and fridges.

I've highlighted the words I think are important.

Thanks webtrekker, yes that's just the sort of thing (assuming they are translucent - you can't really tell from their photos). I just need to find a printer who can do it!
