problem importing pdf into coreldraw

Hi All,
Is there anyone here that can open a customer supplied pdf (in acrobat), import it into coreldraw (in curves) and save it back to version x4 for me.
A customer has supplied a pdf I can open in reader to view, but cannot import it into coreldraw - think it could either be a mac or a font issue.
