Re: Ricoh 3110dn problem

Post by kgmcdonald »

New member here but I have been subbing for quite some time now with my Ricoh and two Epson Ecotank printers.

My Ricoh has been playing up for a couple of weeks now and I have again downloaded Powerdriver again, cleaned the
heads and still the problem persists.

I have attached a template that I use quite often and you will see the problem on the border and I can usually hear when
the fault occurs in that you would think that the printer is taking a 'breather' for a split second and then continues on it's way.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Sincere thanks for the link, did exactly as instructed but sadly I still have the same fault.

When the fault starts occurring have you tried a different paper?

Just thinking of ways to eliminate/isolate the issue.

Tried 3 different papers and all show the same fault.

There is always is a clicking sound halfway through the printing process so I knew to expect the problem when the printing finished
so I assumed that there was a mechanical fault rather than an ink or a paper fault

Nozzle checks have always been OK and head alignment OK but this afternoon I did 2 head flushes and I have noticed a considerable improvement
so I am letting her rest now and I will look at her again in the morning.

I sometimes have this problem - I've put it down to the paper being too cold or damp to feed properly, so it mis-feeds halfway through the print.
I work from my garage, so in the mornings I give the printer a gentle blow with a heater, into the paper feeds, this normally does the trick!
I may just hit lucky with this, but it works for me

Certainly worth a try John - the temperature in my office is 14 degrees these mornings (16 degrees now) so thank you for your reply.
