Printing paper
Re: Printing paper
Hello!
Could someone please explain me difference between printing papers?
The price differences are very high - starting from 10$ per 100 sheets up to 70$ per 100 sheets.
Will the quality of image be better with more expensive paper? How to know which paper is good, what parameters should I look up when buying paper?
I am using Sawgrass SG400.

Gvido

Re: Printing paper
Not all papers will agree with your printer. I would start with Truepix and see how you get on.
Re: Printing paper
Some cheap papers leave a residue of coating on the rollers of the printer causing paper feed problems.

What paper do you use?
2 users have recommended Truepix, so I guess its good paper.
Re: Printing paper
Truepix is good paper. S:race from Germany make nice paper. I have heared good things about the Ink Express paper though I have not tried it (yet).
By 'cheap' paper I mean anything unbranded. Some are perfectly good, but there is no guarantee that the paper in the pack is the same from one batch to the next.

Re: Printing paper
As previous replies have said; there are lots of sublimation papers on the market. Branded paper is typically better than unbranded and you get good consistency from the supplier.
I have tried and tested a range of papers over the years and found papers from S-Race, Trupix, Xpres to all be very good. Coating is good and all give ink release. Also I found no issues with feeding in most printers I tested them on.
As a reseller we offer our own papers - Subli-Sharp and Subli-Textile both of which are great quality papers and have a good reputation in the market and on this forum.
Really its down to personal preference and how much you want to spend
stick to well known reputable brands and you wont have an issue.
