Paper sticking Unisub Coaster
Re: Paper sticking Unisub Coaster
It's been a quite a while since I needed to restock coaster but christmas happens and a restock was needed, anyway I always get unisub coasters from xpres and press them @190 for 60sec.
With this new batch though my trupix paper is sticking to the coasters, when you peel it off you can be left with very small bits almost welded to the coasters. A damp cloth and a bit of elbow grease gets the bits of paper off but doing this is going to get boring fast. Anyone else noticed this kind of thing happening?

Re: Paper sticking Unisub Coaster
I accidentally printed my last batch at 180c as I'd been printing some PULeather coasters previously. The Unisub printed very well at 180c so I stick to that now
Perhaps you could try a slightly lower similar temp? Just thinking out loud, could your paper or coasters be slightly damp? Supplier any use helping with this one?
Re: Paper sticking Unisub Coaster
Temp change was what I was going to try next once I need to do another, I have read that some of the people on here do a pre-press to get rid of moisture but I've needed to do that before.

I've never really felt the need to pre-press but you can see the steam come off within a few seconds if they are damp.

That's very close to my own times. There was a bad batch of coasters during the year which were replaced. The recent good batch of coasters have a 4026 code. What do yours say?galerion;135986 wrote: I always get unisub coasters from xpres and press them @190 for 60sec.

Re: Paper sticking Unisub Coaster
I would drop the temperature by at least 5 degrees and increase the time to balance it out.
Re: Paper sticking Unisub Coaster
Well did handful tonight dropped the temp down to 170 for 90 secs in the end and they are much better now. They are still needing to be peeled off (it doesn't just drop off) but I guess that means there is no risk of ghosting the image when taking them out of the press.

Do they have a plastic coating that needs peeling off first. Happened to me a while ago.
