Printing Card

Hi,
new to sublimarion, and the forum, but haven't had to ask anything yet as there's loads of good info on the boards already.

Got my set-up coming together and having some good success with t-shirts and mugs despite doing everything on a shoe-string budget.

Looking to produce tags for the t-shirts, printed on card and cut out on a cutter. Problem is I can't get the card through my current inkjet (which actually needs replacing). Looking for a budget Epson (preferably) printer that has a rear feed that will take card.

My current printer has a rear feed, the angled 'load from top' type but it just won't pull the card through. Finding it hard to get specs on paper feed for the printers without downloading the manual for each one. Been through a few already without success. :/

Does anyone know of any printers that can handle card well? Needs to be consumer, and desktop inkjet.

My Canon ix6850 handles thick card very well, but you may be better off with a printer that uses pigment inks.

Yeah I've got one printer for the sub inks and another for general use. Looking to renew the general use but would like to use it to make the tags.

Big thumbs up for the Canons, I have an iP8750, superb for card work. That said, if you'er doing loads of the same card you can contract it out cheaply

Apart from card, I've printed absolutely tons of heavy, 650gsm magnetic sheets with my Canon and never a problem.

The fact that it prints up to A3+ is another added bonus.

My cutter glides through magnetic sheet like Fred Astaire on baby oil!

I used to print & cut personalised magnetic party invitations for guests to stick on their fridge as reminders. Sold tons of them and my printer and cutter never let me down. Mind you, because of the limited life of an invitation, I wasn't too bothered about them fading after a while so was happy just using the dye inks in my Canon.
